This lake is one of the great places here in the Southern Sierra Nevada. An average amount of rainfall falls at Lonely Lake; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most rain; July meanwhile is the driest month. Paddling on Kaweah River - Middle Fork is so much fun; the High Sierra Trail is a pleasant hiking trail close by. A nice location to camp here at Lonely Lake is Log Bridge       Campground, and going for a hike on the Atwell Hockett Trail is always a great adventure. Summertime highs at Lonely Lake usually tend to be in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and night lows throughout the winter for Lonely Lake tend to be in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Lonely Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Cold Spring Campground                  is a great local campground, and nearby you locate wonderful sites like Elizabeth Pass. Now, you may think that's a heap but there's even more fun stuff to do here in the Southern Sierra Nevada. A great place like Ranger Meadow here at Lonely Lake is too fine to miss. This is no place for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. Get soaked paddling on Kern River, and a great nearby hotel is Western Holiday Lodge Three Rivers. And if that's not sufficient there's a heap more enjoyable things to do in the Southern Sierra Nevada.
