The Highland Trail offers hiking at its best, and Rockbound Pass is a brilliant site to check out. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Lake Lois. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 40's. Through the winter highs are in the 40's; overnight lows in the 10's for Lake Lois. Lake Lois is a good spot of typical precipitation; the month of January is the wettest       with most of the snow, and the driest month of the year is July. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are fine; Lake Schmidell is a lake that's close to Lake Lois; wonderful skiing awaits you at Sierra at Tahoe. There's magnificent hiking along the Red Peak Trail; Homewood has tremendous slopes and a friendly staff. This lake is so wonderful. You're in all probability hooked on lakes, Lake Doris is one of those nearby; why not take a refreshing hike along the                  Windmiller Trail. That right there is a lot of enjoyable things already but it goes on, the Northern Sierra Nevada has it all. Granlibakken Lodge and Conference Center is a magnificent place to get some rest, and whitewater paddling is glorious on American River - South Fork. Get dripping wet paddling on Silver Creek - South Fork, and the peak of Crystal Range can be made out from Lake Lois. If you adore the outdoors you'll adore it here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Man, is there heaps of fun stuff to do in close proximity to Lake Lois. There's so much to do here at Lake Lois that you need to camp here for a while, Eagle Falls Campground is a good place for that; a nice nearby hotel is Pine Cone Acre Motel. The peaks of the Crystal Range dominate the scenery of this region; Lake Lois is good enough to spend more than a day at, Thirty-nine Mile Campground is a good local campground. You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Nothing beats kicking back at Lester Beach, and spots like Camper Flat are nice to stop by.
