Get your pulse rate up on the great whitewater of Sacramento River; if you've had enough of Log Pond, Dwight Hammond Reservoir is nearby. Log Pond is typically a rather dehydrated site; during the month of December you get the most rain around here, and July is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Sacramento River near Log Pond, and you can stay the night at Trailer Lane RV Park.       Near Log Pond you come across the Sisson Calahan National Recreation Trail which is a splendid hiking trail, and Comfort Inn Central is a tremendous place to get some rest. For the period of the months of summer at Log Pond highs are usually in the 90's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Log Pond. You just can't imagine                  the amount of outdoors enjoyable stuff the area right next door to Log Pond has to offer. Going for a hike on the Castle Lake Trail is always a brilliant adventure, and Mount Shasta is a very popular ski area in close proximity. If you need a site to stay Holiday Inn Express WEED (MOUNT SHASTA AREA) is a nice choice, and why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Weed Golf Club. Go for a hike on the Echo Lake Trail, and Hi-lo Motel and RV Park is a pleasant campground nearby.
