This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Loch Leven without first going for a hike along the Kings River Trail, and paddling on San Joaquin River - South Fork is so much fun. Just can't get enough of the Central Sierra Nevada. If you need a spot to stay Super 8 Motel - Bishop is a good choice; Kings River - Middle Fork has a great whitewater paddling spot close by. This lake is so wonderful. Really fine skiing       awaits you at Mammoth Mountain, and why not camp at Sabrina Campground since you're here at Loch Leven. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this location. Devils Postpile National Monument is a very nice spot to explore close to Loch Leven; after a long day outdoors Bishop-Days Inn is a good spot to spend a night or two. And if that's not enough there's lots more cool things to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. A glorious place to camp here at Loch Leven is                  North Lake Campground, and good hiking is available along the John Muir Trail - Pacific Crest Section. Here at Loch Leven you can observe Mount Emerson, and unsurprisingly, this is a glorious vicinity for folks who like lakes, Emerson Lake is a lake around here. Loch Leven is located in the Central Sierra Nevada. At Loch Leven during the warm days of summer highs are in the 90's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 50's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Loch Leven dip into the 20's.
