Hiking is a popular thing to do around Little Summit Lake; Pacific Crest Trail - section 15 is a magnificent local trail. There's so much to do here at Little Summit Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Jackson Creek Campground is a magnificent site for that. A common amount of rainfall falls here at Little Summit Lake; most of the rain falls through January,       and July is when it's the driest. Little Summit Lake is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Buzzard's Glory RV Park is a pleasant local campground, and if you need a location to stay Chalet View Lodge is a wonderful choice. Through the summer months, highs usually are in the 90's at Little Summit Lake; through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Little                  Summit Lake temperatures fall to the 20's. Swamps can be such out of the ordinary sites, go to Summit Marsh since you're here at Little Summit Lake, and not far from Little Summit Lake you'll find Madora Lake which is a beautiful lake. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Northern Sierra Nevada. Good hiking is available along the Eureka Lake Trail, and Blakeless Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth stopping at. This lake is one of the great places here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. You assume that's enough? Just getting warmed up. A brilliant close by hotel is Super 8 Susanville. Lakes are splendid; Walker Mine Tailings Reservoir is a lake that's near Little Summit Lake. This lake is so wonderful. The Deer Lake Trail offers hiking at its best, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Feather River - Middle Fork.
