This lake is one of the great places here in the Southern Sierra Nevada. So much entertaining stuff in the Southern Sierra Nevada, just mind-boggling. Best Western Frontier Motel is a splendid site to get some rest. Interesting geology is available here; Center Basin Crags is close to Little Pothole Lake,       and a good spot like Onion Valley here at Little Pothole Lake is too perfect to miss. Little Pothole Lake is a fine spot to visit for more than one day, Fort Independence Campground is a fine spot to camp nearby. Lakes are glorious; Gilbert Lake is a lake that's close to Little Pothole Lake. For the duration of the months of summer at Little Pothole Lake temperatures are generally in the 90's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 60's. Daytime highs all                  through the wintertime are in the 50's, and nighttime lows in the 20's for Little Pothole Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Mount Whitney Trail is splendid fun, and not far from Little Pothole Lake you'll hit upon Matlock Lake which is a stunning lake. Whohoo, so much cool stuff in one place! Little Pothole Lake is so good! Symmes Creek Campground is a perfect local campground, and from Little Pothole Lake you get a splendid view of Mount Gould. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable things in the Southern Sierra Nevada.
