At Little Pothole Lake throughout the summer highs are in the 90's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 50's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Little Pothole Lake fall into the 20's. Going for a hike on the Pacific Crest Trail - section 11 is always a great adventure; since you might be in       a lake visiting mood you can always go to close by Bench Lake. And that's not all you can do here at Little Pothole Lake. If you came to camp Symmes Creek Campground is a perfect spot to do that, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Frontier Motel is a nice location to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Little Pothole Lake is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Fort Independence Campground is a glorious local campground, and                  Center Basin Crags is a great location to explore while in the vicinity. You can observe Mount Gould from Little Pothole Lake; there are glorious sites to explore along the Mount Whitney Trail. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Southern Sierra Nevada. But wait, there's more exciting stuff to do in the Southern Sierra Nevada. If you're here, you might as well visit Kearsarge Pass; a great site like Onion Valley here at Little Pothole Lake is too wonderful to miss. This lake is located in the wonderful Southern Sierra Nevada.
