There is a brilliant hiking trail near Little Last Chance Lake called the Cottonwood Overlook Trail, and lovely scenery and splendid skiing is what you obtain at Royal Gorge. At Little Last Chance Lake you don’t see much precipitation; the month with most of the snow is January while July is frequently the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. High temperatures at Little Last Chance Lake throughout the months of summer are in the 80's; the nighttime is quite cooler of course, commonly in the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are mostly in the 40's with temperatures at Little Last Chance Lake dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. Chance Lake is easy, and on a fine day you can take a hike along the Cottonwood Fisherman Trail. The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. So much cool stuff to do at Little Last Chance Lake, so little time. After
a long day outdoors Chalet View Lodge is a tremendous place to spend a night or two, and Little Last Chance Lake is not the only place close by, Palen Reservoir is a close by lake. Having a delightful time in the Northern Sierra Nevada is uncomplicated.
