A trip to Cabrillo National Monument is recommended. Throughout the days of summer, highs usually are in the 80's at Lindo Lake. During the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 60's with temperatures at Lindo Lake dipping down into the 40's during winter nights. This lake is located in the wonderful Santa Rosa Mountains. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy       all the entertaining stuff at Lindo Lake. Lots of folks from San Diego-Carlsbad-San Marcos come to Lindo Lake; you can take a little spree to Chet Harritt Dam while you're here at Lindo Lake. Near Lindo Lake you hit upon Moreno Valley which is a good site to explore; a quick spree to Los Coches Creek is absolutely a good idea. A scenic lake like San Vicente Reservoir near Lindo Lake is a wonderful place to stop at, and Santee Lakes Regional Park and Campground                  is a great campground nearby. These mountains rock, just check out all the enjoyable stuff to do in the Santa Rosa Mountains. Lake Jennings is a great lake close to Lindo Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Americas Best Value Inn - El Cajon/San Diego. This lake is so wonderful. If you're a golfer then a great nearby course is Willowbrook Golf Course, and Rancho Los Coches RV Park is a great local campground. You just ought to fancy the Santa Rosa Mountains. Get covered with water paddling on Los Penasquitos Creek, and if you need a place to stay Best Western Santee Lodge is a good choice.
