What a nice lake Lily Pond is. Don’t forget to have a look at Marx Meadows if you're here at Lily Pond, and one of the overriding features of the surroundings of Lily Pond is Buena Vista Heights. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Lily Pond; Temelpa Trail is a fine local trail. Pond, and for you golfers we recommend nearby Presidio Golf Course. High temperatures at Lily Pond through the warm months are in the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's.
High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 50's with temperatures at Lily Pond dipping down into the 30's through winter nights. After a long day outdoors Geary Parkway Motel is a nice location to spend a night or
two; you're sure to run into some fine people from San Francisco-Oakland-Fremont here. Man, is there lots of entertaining stuff to do near Lily Pond. Nothing beats kicking back at Baker Beach, and you can go for a hike on the Bootjack
Trail. Golden Gate National Recreation Area is one of the destinations close to Lily Pond that are great to go to; a short tour to Huntington Falls is always worthwhile. China Beach is a beach next to Lily Pond that you can have
a look at; do take some time to take a look at George Washington Bicentennial Grove since you're here. Mountain Camp is a splendid local campground, and Stanyan Park (Le) is a brilliant place to get some rest.

Camping Trips
 | I have had the displeasure of staying at a campsite called Coloma Resort on the South Fork of the American River. If you're not a church group or over 65 this place is not for you. We were harassed by the management constantly and were told to go to bed at 10:00pm on a Saturday night. Nothing in their rules said laughing and the Beatles were not allowed. This is the type of place that will tell you what you want to hear just to get your money. The campsite was extremely crowded even the 3rd week of August. My advice is to go else where, anywhere else but here!... |
