This lake is one of the great places here in the Central Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful. Just can't get enough of Leopold Lake. Y Meadow Dam is beautiful and it's near Leopold Lake, and you can run the rapids of Stanislaus River - Middle Fork. So much cool stuff to do in the Central Sierra Nevada, not enough time. A great location for whitewater       paddling near Leopold Lake is Cherry Creek - West Fork, and hey, Buck Meadow Creek is a delightful local stream. This lake is so wonderful. If you would like a little side journey, try Post Corral Canyon, and why not camp at Baker Campground while you're here at Leopold Lake. There's no way someone can get bored here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Americas Best Value Inn Yosemite Westgate Lodge is a pleasant site to get some rest, and Salt Lick Meadow is                  a great location. Summertime at Leopold Lake comes with high temperatures in the 60's, and all through the night it cools down to the 40's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's; all through the dark hours in the winter at Leopold Lake temperatures plunge to the 10's. Leopold Lake gets lots of water; the wettest month of the year is typically January, that's the one that snows the most, and the driest of the months is July.
