The pretty Crystal Range is here at Leland Lakes; Homewood is a very popular ski area in the neighborhood. High temperatures at Leland Lakes throughout the warm months are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 40's. Highs through the winter are usually in the 40's, and nighttime lows at Leland Lakes through the winter typically dip into the 10's. That right there       is a lot of amusing stuff already but it goes on, the Northern Sierra Nevada has it all. Looking for something close to Leland Lakes? Lake Schmidell is nearby, and Crystal Range can be distinguished from Leland Lakes. Take a little spree to Phipps Creek while you're here at Leland Lakes, and a glorious close by hotel is Granlibakken Lodge and Conference Center. If you have a thing about the outdoors, you'll like Leland Lakes. Leland Lakes is not the only place                  close by, McConnell Lake is a close by lake, and Eagle Falls Campground is a glorious campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Pine Cone Acre Motel is a good place to spend a night or two, and going for a hike on the Red Peak Trail is always a magnificent adventure. The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. Soar down the rapids of American River - South Fork in a kayak; splendid hiking is available along the General Creek Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Pleasant Boat-In Campground is a splendid local campground, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Sierra at Tahoe. The amount of precipitation that falls at Leland Lakes is close to the national average; during January this area sees the most snow, and July on the other hand is the driest. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the Northern Sierra Nevada.
