In California there are many beautiful lakes, Lake Vera is one of them. If you want a brilliant time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Lake Vera. Brush Creek is near Lake Vera and is always a diversion to go to, and hiking along the Lafayette Ridge Trail is perfect fun. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors cool stuff the Northern Sierra Nevada has to offer. You might want to pay a visit to Meyers Ravine since you're here at Lake Vera, and a

| | round of golf at nearby Nevada County Country Club is a great way to kill some time. This lake is so wonderful. A pleasant tour to Selby Flat is a delightful way to spend an afternoon, and if you need a location to stay Nevada City Inn is a tremendous choice. Take a hike on the Humbug Trail, and drift down the rapids of Yuba River - South Fork in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. Piety Hill Cottages, and why not take a refreshing hike along the South Yuba Trail. If the weather is beautiful, you acquire a great vista of Round Mountain from Lake Vera; you'll possibly meet some folks from Truckee-Grass Valley
here. This lake is one of the great places here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Lake Vera gets lots of water; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is July.

East Meadows Campground - Tahoe National Forest
 | East Meadows has been a favorite since my first trip. The area is full of natural attractions. A favorite is to go sit in the small waterfalls just a short hike from the campsite. Beaware that because of the elevation, the campground does not open Memorial Day like most (although they will let you make reservations during that weekend), it's usually still covered in snow until the middle of June. However, once you get there you will see what a couple extra weeks of snow will bring in beauty to the surroundings.... |
