This lake is located in the wonderful Northern Sierra Nevada. Lake Van Norden gets much water; the month with most of the rain is January, and the driest month is July. Whohoo, so much entertaining stuff in one place! Lake Van Norden is excellent! The panorama of Andesite Peak from Lake Van Norden is lovely. There's so much to do here at Lake Van Norden that you need to camp here for       a while, Onion Creek Campground is a fine place for that. All the outdoors enjoyable stuff near Lake Van Norden will keep you coming back time and again. Be careful coming to the Northern Sierra Nevada, you might not ever wanna return home again. Going for a hike along the Lola Montez Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region, and do explore Ice Lakes, it's a gorgeous lake. A brilliant site for whitewater paddling close to Lake Van Norden is Yuba River - South Fork, and some of the water close by flows, like Lower Castle Creek. The warmest time of the year at Lake Van Norden arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's.
