Do stop by Lake Van Norden while you're in this part of California. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool things in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Stay the night at Onion Creek Campground, and Lower Castle Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth going to. Whohoo, so many fun things in one place! Lake Van Norden is excellent!. Lake Van Norden gets a lot of water; the month with most of the rain is January, and July is when it's the driest.

| | Van Norden is located in the Northern Sierra Nevada. A day on the slopes of Soda Springs is just what you need, and float down the rapids of Fordyce Creek in a kayak. High temperatures at Lake Van Norden during the warmest time of the year are in the 80's. Summer night lows plunge down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Lake Van Norden.

more outdoors entertaining stuff just keep reading. Summit Valley is a good place to stop at nearby, and do go to Lower Lola Montez Lake, it's a delightful lake. This lake is so wonderful. On a nice day at Lake Van Norden you can take a hike along the Heath Falls Overlook Trail, and Andesite Peak is clearly visible from Lake Van Norden.
