A visit to Lake Stockton is always a good idea. Be careful coming to the Southern Sierra Nevada, you might not ever want to go back home again. During your journey to Lake Stockton you'll meet some people from Bakersfield for sure; the Virginia Trail offers hiking at its best. This lake is one of the great places here in the Southern Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful.
A pleasant view of scenic Basket Peak is available from Lake Stockton, and do take

| | a hike on the Bull Run Cattle Drive. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Shirley Meadow since you're here It's always nice to stop at Burnt Spring. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Evans Flat Campground is always a fine experience; you can run the rapids of Kern River.

by the Old Sled Trail. Any time is a nice time at Lake Stockton if you fancy the outdoors. If you need a site to stay Best Western Hill House is a great choice; Kern River is a tremendous whitewater spot nearby. At Lake Stockton you
don’t see much rainfall; January is when you get the most rain here; the driest month of the year is July.
Through the summer months highs here at Lake Stockton get into the 90's; the overnight is a tad colder of course, typically
in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 50's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Lake Stockton temperatures dip to the 20's.
