The road up to Lake Sterling is 4x4 only with sheer cliffs in some spots with shale rock that wants to slide out from under your tires. I saw a well equipped 4x4 truck attempt the road and have half of the rock road crumble away underneath the truck like a mini avalanche. It took until the following week to get the truck out of the canyon, but only took 2 hours for the medivac chopper to get there. Don't bring a trailer, definitely do bring spare tires and plenty of water if you do get stuck. No Verizon cell service out there either.

Lake Sterling is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. This lake is so wonderful. Nancy Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore, and going for a hike on the Salmon Lake Trail is always a great adventure. Meadow Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop by, and you'll meet a lot of people from Truckee-Grass Valley here. | | a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Yuba River - South Fork. There's so much to do here at Lake Sterling that you need to camp here for a while, Cold Springs Campground is a nice location for that.

have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Fordyce Creek. There's so much to do here at Lake Sterling that you need to camp here for a while, Sterling Lake Campground is a magnificent place for that. For
the duration of the months of summer highs here at Lake Sterling get into the 80's while night lows are mostly in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and night lows in the 20's for Lake Sterling.
Man, is there
a heap of entertaining things to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. From Lake Sterling you obtain a glorious panorama of Fordyce Summit, and if you need a site to stay Holiday Inn Express Truckee, Ca is a brilliant choice. This lake
is so wonderful. Really magnificent skiing awaits you at Royal Gorge, and if you need a spot to stay The Inn At Truckee is a perfect choice. A pleasant spree to Furnace Flat is a magnificent way to spend an afternoon, and going for
a hike on the Glacier Lakes Trail is always a perfect adventure.
Really great skiing awaits you at Soda Springs; going for a hike on the Loch Leven Trail is always a great adventure. This place is peerless, just explore all the enjoyable things to do near Lake Sterling. Lake Sterling is located in the Northern Sierra Nevada.
