If you like lakes and you're in this part of California you can check out Lake Sterling. This lake is located in the wonderful Northern Sierra Nevada. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Northern Sierra Nevada. Furnace Flat is a good spot to stretch your legs a bit, and there are some tremendous whitewater spots on Yuba River - South Fork. This lake is so wonderful. There are plenty of people from Truckee-Grass Valley here at Lake Sterling, and dry warm

Go for a hike on the Glacier Lakes Trail, and if you get bored of Lake Sterling you could also have a look at nearby Nancy Lake. Holiday Inn Express Truckee, Ca is a wonderful place to get some rest. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Lake Sterling has to offer, you can camp at Sterling Lake Campground. All the outdoors fun things in the Northern Sierra Nevada will keep you coming back over and over. | |

The vista of Fordyce Summit from Lake Sterling is lovely, and wonderful scenery and splendid skiing is what you get at Soda Springs.
This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Lake Sterling without first going for a hike along the
Loch Leven Trail, and Meadow Lake is a nearby lake that you could take a look at. This site is so good, just explore all the cool things to do right next door to Lake Sterling. So much entertaining stuff to do at Lake Sterling, so
little time. Gotta ski! Royal Gorge is a wonderful place to do that; there's whitewater on Fordyce Creek for all you adrenaline people.
Lake Sterling is a wet place that gets much precipitation; during January this area sees the
most rain while July is frequently the driest month. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Lake Sterling, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. For the duration of the wintertime the highs are ordinarily in the 40's with
temperatures at Lake Sterling dipping down into the 20's during winter nights. There's good hiking along the Salmon Lake Trail. There's so much to do here at Lake Sterling that you need to camp here for a while, Cold Springs Campground is a pleasant site for that.
