If you are in Nevada county it's always a good idea to stop by Lake Sterling. So much cool stuff to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada, too great to be true. You can run the rapids of Yuba River - South Fork right next door to Lake Sterling, and nearby you come across the Salmon Lake Trail which is a great hiking trail. At Lake Sterling you always meet someone from Truckee-Grass Valley, and the snow is pleasant at Royal Gorge. Man, is there loads of exciting

| | things to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Fordyce Creek is a good whitewater spot near Lake Sterling, and the Glacier Lakes Trail is a splendid hiking trail close by.

are in the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's typically in the 40's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 40's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Lake Sterling sink into the
20's. But wait, there's more to do near Lake Sterling. There is a wonderful hiking trail near Lake Sterling called the Loch Leven Trail; a day on the slopes of Soda Springs is just what you need.

Lake Sterling is one of the lakes here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Lake Sterling sees pretty high levels of rain; during the month of January you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is July.
