California has many beautiful lakes and Lake Sonoma is one of them. There is a perfect hiking trail close to Lake Sonoma called the Cadd Fire Trail, and since you're here, you could also take a look at pretty Vineyard Lake. If you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Big Sulphur Creek, and if you want a little side tour, try Grass Valley. So much cool stuff to do in the Coast Ranges, not enough time. A great close
