There is a perfect hiking trail close to Lake Sonoma called the Cadd Fire Trail, and since you're here, you could also take a look at pretty Vineyard Lake. If you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Big Sulphur Creek, and if you want a little side tour, try Grass Valley. So much cool stuff to do in the Coast Ranges, not enough time. A great close       by hotel is Super 8 Cloverdale; do stop by Merlo Lake, it's a stunning lake. There's no way someone can get bored here in the Coast Ranges. Bummer Peak can be distinguished from Lake Sonoma; you don’t have to go far from Lake Sonoma to distinguish the water at Warm Springs Dam. This lake is so wonderful. Russian River has a good whitewater paddling spot close by; the Monte Rio Fire Trail is a wonderful hiking trail close by. All the water falling down                  from the sky makes Lake Sonoma a wet place; the wettest month of the year is mostly January, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is July. Summertime at Lake Sonoma arrives with high temperatures in the 90's with night lows in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 50's, and overnight lows in the 30's for Lake Sonoma. Why not camp at Dutcher Creek RV Park and Campground if you're here at Lake Sonoma. Lake Sonoma is a beautiful lake in the Coast Ranges.
