Here at Lake Newton you can distinguish Inspiration Point; hiking along the Bald Mountain Trail is magnificent fun. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Napa River; if you came for an overnight stay Bothe Napa Valley State Park is a tremendous place to camp. Lake Newton is a good location of normal rain;       the month of January is the wettest with most of the rain, and July is the month with the least moisture. This is no spot for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. A golf course right next door to Lake Newton is Aetna Springs Golf Course, and if you come at the right time of year, Putah Creek offers some perfect whitewater. Ambrose Bierce House is a great place to get some rest, and if you're here why not stop at Bell Canyon. Since you might be in a lake                  visiting mood you can always pop by close by Granite Lake; Ritchey Creek Campground is a splendid campground nearby. Walnut Flat is a delightful spot here at Lake Newton. Through the summer at Lake Newton highs are mostly in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 50's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Lake Newton. This lake is so wonderful.
