If you are in San Diego county it's always a good idea to stop by Lake Miramar. This lake is so wonderful. A great close by hotel is Quality Suites San Diego. Lake Miramar gets very little rainfall; through January this area sees the most rain; the driest month of the year is July. There's so much to do here at Lake Miramar that you need to camp here for a while, Cleveland Boulder Oaks Eqst - Cleveland National Forest is a great spot for that, and a golf course nearby is Carmel Mountain Ranch Country Club. Rancheria - Cleveland National Forest. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Los Penasquitos Creek offers some splendid whitewater, and a lake close by is Duck Pond.
For the period of the warm days
of summer at Lake Miramar temperatures are mostly in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 60's. Highs during the wintertime are commonly in the 60's with temperatures at Lake Miramar dipping down into the 40's through winter nights.
There are some pleasant whitewater spots on Escondido Creek; if you're going to from San Diego-Carlsbad-San Marcos, you won't be the only one. If you need a location to stay Holiday Inn Express San Diego is a good choice, and if you haven’t been to Cabrillo National Monument, you ought to schedule some time for it since you're here.
