    Do stop by Lake McCloud while you're in this part of California. There's so much to do here at Lake McCloud that you need to camp here for a while, Ah-Di-Na Campground is a good spot for that, and there is a great hiking trail nearby called the Cone Point Trail. Looking for something near Lake McCloud? Pit Six Reservoir is around here, and there are great sites to look at along the Angel Meadow Trail. Skunk Hill is trouble-free to spot from Lake McCloud, and Mount  
   Shasta is a good local ski area.
This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on McCloud River is so much fun, and going for a hike on the Nelson Flat Trail is always a perfect adventure. This site, the Southern Cascade Range, has so much outdoors exciting stuff. Near Lake McCloud you locate magnificent places like Doodlebug Gulch, and a pleasant close by hotel is Dunsmuir Travelodge. That right there is a heap already, but it carries on; Lake McCloud has it all.
 
               So many entertaining things to do in the Southern Cascade Range, not enough time. McCloud River has a fine whitewater paddling spot close by; people from Redding love to come here. Through the warm months highs here at Lake McCloud reach the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 40's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 40's while Lake McCloud nighttime low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 20's. And that's not all you can do here at Lake McCloud. A quick visit to Battle Creek near Lake McCloud is a great idea, and perhaps you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Tunnel Reservoir is just a very short distance away.
Lake McCloud is a beautiful lake in the Southern Cascade Range. This lake is so wonderful. Dunsmuir Inn & Suites is a great location to get some rest, and if you came to camp Fowlers Campground is a great site to do that. The high level of rain makes Lake McCloud a rather wet spot; during January this area sees the most rain, and July is when it's the driest.

Fowlers Campground
This campground is definitely one that I have thoroughly enjoyed staying. While it was not anything special or out of the ordinary, the staff was friendly and accomodating and the atmosphere was very family friendly. I would suggest Fowlers to any family wanting just a nice vacation together, but if you are a camping enthusiast and are used to having high standards for your camping experience, you may want to search around a bit more before you decide to stay at Fowlers as it may be a bit more mediocre than what you are used to camping at. ...
