At Mathews Dam in the vicinity of Lake Mathews there are some out of the ordinary things to see; the summit of Arington Mountain can be observed from Lake Mathews. Going for a hike along the Coldwater Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity; Lake Mathews is not the only spot nearby, Mockingbird Reservoir is a nearby lake. At Lake Mathews you don’t see much       rain; all through the month of January you get the most rain around here; the driest month is July. This lake is so wonderful. Mt. San Jacinto State Park is a nice campground nearby, unsurprisingly you could also check out Lee Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors fun things the area in the vicinity of Lake Mathews has to offer. Why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Trilogy Golf                  Club, and you should certainly dedicate some time to Eagle Valley since you're here at Lake Mathews. Stay the night at Salton Sea State Recreation Area, and while you're here you can take a hike along the East Horsetheif Trail. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Mt. Baldy is close to Lake Mathews; dry warm beds await you at Quality Inn & Suites. On a magnificent day at Lake Mathews you can take a hike along the Horsethief Trail, and if you need a site to stay Econo Lodge Riverside is a good choice. Summertime highs at Lake Mathews regularly tend to be in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's.
