Why not stop by Lake Mary if you're passing through these parts. If you came to camp Onion Creek Campground is a delightful place to do that, and a pleasant journey to Sugar Bowl is a great way to spend an afternoon. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Lake Mary, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. Highs throughout the winter are usually in the 40's; through the dark hours in the winter at Lake Mary temperatures plunge to the 20's.

| | Going for a hike on the Painted Rock Trail is always a tremendous adventure, and you'll stumble on a scenic lake called Ice Lakes.
This lake is so wonderful. A round of golf at nearby Tahoe Donner Golf Course is a good way to kill some time, and The Inn At Truckee is a tremendous spot to get some rest. Valley, and get soaked paddling on Yuba River - South Fork. That right there is loads already, but it keeps on going; Lake Mary has it all. Lakes are such serene places, why not check out Frog Lake next to Lake Mary, and there is
a magnificent hiking trail close by called the Warren Lake Trail.
There are great spots to explore along the Lola Montez Trail, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Donner Ski Ranch while you're here. This
lake is so wonderful. Lake Mary is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Van Norden Campground is a wonderful local campground, and what would winter be without some skiing at Sugar Bowl. The high level of rain makes Lake
Mary a relatively wet place; the month with most of the rain is January while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
This is no spot for people who don’t like to have a good time. Get yourself into a kayak and
hit Fordyce Creek. Just can't get enough of the Northern Sierra Nevada. A great close by hotel is Holiday Inn Express Truckee, Ca; the top of Crows Nest is easily observed from Lake Mary. Lake Mary is a beautiful lake in the Northern Sierra Nevada.
