Lake Jennings is one of the lakes here in the Santa Rosa Mountains. So many cool things to do in the Santa Rosa Mountains, not enough time. Get wet paddling on Los Penasquitos Creek; nearby Quail Canyon is a tremendous spot to go. There is a wonderful hiking trail near Lake Jennings called the Horsethief Ridge Trail, and Lake Jennings is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Santee Lakes Regional Park       and Campground is a brilliant local campground. Barona Valley Ranch Resort and Casino is a good place to get some rest, and since you're here you will meet lots of folks from nearby San Diego-Carlsbad-San Marcos. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Santa Rosa Mountains. A round of golf at nearby Willowbrook Golf Course is a tremendous way to kill some time. If only every spot had this much outdoors exciting stuff, what a great globe it would                  be. After a long day outdoors Best Western Courtesy Inn is a splendid place to spend a night or two, and Chet Harritt Dam is a gorgeous site, without doubt worth checking out. This lake is so wonderful. Cabrillo National Monument is one of the destinations near Lake Jennings that are great to go to. There's so much to do here at Lake Jennings that you need to camp here for a while, Rancho Los Coches RV Park is a great spot for that. Lake Jennings is pretty arid commonly; March is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is July. High temperatures at Lake Jennings during the long summer days are in the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 60's.
