This seemed like a great place to visit, get some climbing in and then take a dip in the lake. If anyone has any further information about the closing, please post it. Any time is a tremendous time at Lake Eleanor if you go for the outdoors. On a great day it's a perfect idea to spend the day at South Beach, and if you need a site to stay Hyatt Westlake Plaza is a good choice. This lake is so wonderful. Lake Eleanor Creek flows through this neighborhood. If you want to hit the beach, Encinal Beach is in close proximity, and camping is available at Sunny       Skies Day Camp. Throughout the days of summer here at Lake Eleanor, high temperatures mostly reach the 80's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 60's while the cold winter nights at Lake Eleanor are in the 40's. Lake Eleanor is generally a reasonably dried out location; January is the wettest month with most rain, and July on the other hand is the driest. If time allows, Santa Monica Mountains National                  Recreation Area is a national park worth checking out, and Westlake Village Inn is a good location to get some rest. A journey to Hidden Valley is always fun, and if you came for an overnight stay Camp Westoaks is a fine site to camp. Whitewater paddling is good on Piru Creek, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Oxnard-Thousand Oaks-Ventura here. This lake is so wonderful.
