If you are traveling by, why not stop by Lake Cuyamaca. You can take a little trip to Cuyamaca Dam while you're here at Lake Cuyamaca, and dry warm beds await you at Ayres Inn Alpine. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Lake Cuyamaca; Pacific Crest Trail - section 2 is a wonderful local trail, and a delightful location to camp here at Lake Cuyamaca is Lake Cuyamaca. Don't leave Lake Cuyamaca without first going for a hike along the Middle Peak Loop Trail, and why not camp at Los Caballos Campground since you're here at Lake Cuyamaca. An average amount of rain falls at Lake Cuyamaca; the wettest
month of the year is mostly March, that's the one that rains the most, and June on the other hand is the driest. Having a great time in the Santa Rosa Mountains is trouble-free. At Lake Cuyamaca you can catch a glimpse of Middle Peak,

Grover Hot State Parkrings State Park
 | 14 miles away Our family used to live in Reno, NV and would go to Grovers often. We loved to camp in the area and loved the hot springs and swimming pool. In the nice weather hiking was a favorite thing for us to do then take a long wonderful soak. In the winter we loved to use the hot springs and watch the snow falling down. We now live back Chicago and visit Reno at least once a year - Grovers is always a place we visit while there. As wonderful as Chicago is we truly miss Grovers! ... |
