    The beauty of Lake Cuyamaca is reason enough to stop by. You clearly ought to adore the Santa Rosa Mountains. Don't leave Lake Cuyamaca without first going for a hike along the Middle Peak Loop Trail; Lake Cuyamaca is good enough to spend more than a day at, Los Caballos Campground is a good local campground. Lake Cuyamaca is a good place of normal rain; March is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest of the months is June. That right there is a  
   lot already, but it goes on; Lake Cuyamaca has it all. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Lake Cuyamaca; Pacific Crest Trail - section 2 is a tremendous local trail, and dry warm beds await you at Riviera Oaks Resort.
This lake is located in the wonderful Santa Rosa Mountains. Put some time aside to spend at Azalea Spring since you're here at Lake Cuyamaca; there's always Cuyamaca Dam to pop by near Lake Cuyamaca. Summer at Lake Cuyamaca comes with
 
               high temperatures in the 90's, and the nighttime is a little cooler of course, generally in the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 50's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Lake Cuyamaca fall into the 20's.
Man, is there loads of cool stuff to do in the Santa Rosa Mountains. If you need a spot to stay San Vicente Resort is a great choice. A wonderful vista of lovely Middle Peak is available from Lake Cuyamaca; since you're here, you could visit Little Stonewall Creek. This lake is so wonderful. There's good hiking along the Monument Trail. There's so much to do here at Lake Cuyamaca that you need to camp here for a while, Lake Cuyamaca is a wonderful spot for that.
