Having a perfect time in the Southern Cascade Range is easy. Stay the night at Northshore Campground, and if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Coal Mine Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Float down the rapids of Pit River in a kayak; Burney Spring Mountain is easy to spot       from Lake Britton. This lake is so wonderful. If time allows, Lassen Volcanic National Park is a national park worth stopping at. Lake Britton is a magnificent spot to visit for more than one day, Rim Campground is a magnificent spot to camp nearby, and lakes are such calm locations, why not stop at Coyote Flat Reservoir. Through the summer at Lake Britton highs are typically in the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 40's. Throughout the wintertime                  the highs are usually in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Lake Britton. Lake Britton is located in the Southern Cascade Range. You think that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. While you're here at Lake Britton you can take a hike along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 17; there are other sites here than Lake Britton, for example Owl Lake. But wait, there's more fun stuff to do in the Southern Cascade Range. Burney Falls is always fun to check out, and some of the water nearby flows, like Burney Creek.
