Northern Sierra Nevada. Bee Gulch is a tremendous place to explore; why not head up to Kirkwood and strap some skis to your feet. Rose Meadow is a beautiful place any time of year, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the
slopes of nearby Bear Valley. Throughout the months of summer at Lake Alpine temperatures are regularly in the 60's while overnight lows are ordinarily in the 40's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 30's with winter
lows in the 10's overnight here at Lake Alpine. What a place this is for outdoors folks. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Lake Alpine has to offer, you can camp at Lake Alpine Campground; there's whitewater on Stanislaus
River - Middle Fork for all you adrenaline junkies. This lake is so wonderful. The view of gorgeous Inspiration Point near Lake Alpine is great, and pleasant hiking is available along the Emigrant Trail. This lake is so wonderful.
Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Mokelumne River - North Fork, and there's splendid hiking along the Charity Valley Trail. Duck Creek flows through this region, and if you want to take a look at some interesting stuff, take a look at Slick Rock.
