A pleasant tour to Buck Meadow is a brilliant way to spend an afternoon; nearby you stumble on the Steamboat Trail which is a great hiking trail. Going for a hike on the McKinstry Trail is always a tremendous adventure, and if you need a site to stay Squaw Valley Lodge is a great choice. This lake is so wonderful. Cottonwood Creek is close to Lagoon Lake and is always a delight to visit; Yuba River - South       Fork has a wonderful whitewater paddling spot nearby. A wonderful site to pop by near Lagoon Lake is Grayhorse Valley, and you can never get enough of the wonderful skiing at Squaw Valley. For the period of the warm days of summer at Lagoon Lake temperatures are usually in the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's. Through the winter highs are generally in the 40's with temperatures at Lagoon Lake dipping down into the 20's during winter nights.                  There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Lagoon Lake. Big Rock Spring is a great local attraction, and a perfect site to camp here at Lagoon Lake is Hell Hole-In Campground. Be careful coming to Lagoon Lake, you might not ever wanna go home again. Paddling on American River - South Fork is so much fun. You absolutely have to fancy the Northern Sierra Nevada. Go for a hike on the Parsley Bar Trail. Lakes? Sure, Hell Hole Reservoir is close at hand. All the water falling down from the sky makes Lagoon Lake a wet site; most of the rain falls during January, and the driest of the months is July. Lagoon Lake is located in the Northern Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful. Skiing at Alpine Meadows is one of those things you just have to do, and Plumpjack Squaw Valley Inn is a magnificent place to get some rest. These mountains rock, just look at all the entertaining things to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada.
