The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. If you like the outdoors you'll like it here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend American River - South Fork, and Pine Cone Acre Motel is a tremendous spot to get some rest. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable things in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Dry warm beds       await you at Harvest Inn-St Helena, Napa Valley, and Martin Point can be distinguished from Kirkwood Lake. Going for a hike on the Emigrant Trail is always a magnificent adventure, and why not camp at Kirwood Campground while you're here at Kirkwood Lake. Throughout the summer, highs ordinarily are in the 70's at Kirkwood Lake, and the overnight is a tad chillier of course, mostly in the 40's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 30's; winter                  nights come with lows in the 10's to Kirkwood Lake. And if that's not enough, there's a heap more to do near Kirkwood Lake. A lake nearby is Lake Margaret. There is a delightful hiking trail next to Kirkwood Lake called the Hawley Grade Trail, and a day on the slopes of Kirkwood is just what you need. If only every place had this much outdoors exciting things, what a great world it would be. People from Gardnerville Ranchos love to come to Kirkwood Lake, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Sierra at Tahoe is reasonably near. A tour to Kirkwood Meadows invigorates the soul, and get your pulse rate up on the good whitewater of Mokelumne River - North Fork. A lot of precipitation falls at Kirkwood Lake; January is when you get the most snow here; the driest month of the year is July. This lake is so wonderful. Kirkwood Lake is not the only place nearby, Caples Lake is a nearby lake; as expected Kirkwood Creek flows through this area. This lake is so wonderful.
