Kiefer Reservoir is a location that is relatively dried up       usually; the month with most of the rain is January; the driest month of the year is July. This lake is so wonderful. Angels Inn Motel is a wonderful place to get some rest, and a lake close by is Emery Reservoir. Kiefer Reservoir is great enough to spend more than a day at, Frogtown RV Park and Calaveras is a great local campground, and the peak of Bald Hill can be observed from Kiefer Reservoir. That right there is plenty already, but it keeps on going; Kiefer                  Reservoir has it all. A delightful spot for whitewater paddling near Kiefer Reservoir is Mokelumne River. Stanislaus River is a glorious whitewater spot near Kiefer Reservoir, and Ross Reservoir is a nearby lake that you could stop at. Throughout the summertime here at Kiefer Reservoir, high temperatures regularly reach the 90's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 60's.
