Kidney Lake is a location that is pretty dehydrated ordinarily; January is the month that gets the most snow; the driest of the months is October. If you like the outdoors you'll like it here in the Central Sierra Nevada. On a pleasant day at Kidney Lake you can take a hike along the Gaylor Lakes Trail; if you need a place to stay Yosemite Gateway Motel is a brilliant choice. This lake is so wonderful.       There's so much to do here at Kidney Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Tioga Junction Campground is a great site for that, obviously you could also have a look at Dana Lake if you're here; it's not far at all. You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun things in the Central Sierra Nevada. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Kidney Lake has to offer, you can camp at Ellery Lake Campground, and there is a magnificent                  hiking trail nearby called the Pacific Crest Trail - section 12. Dry warm beds await you at Heidelberg Inn, and from Kidney Lake you get a good view of Mount Dana. That right there is loads already, but it goes on; Kidney Lake has it all. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby June Mountain; the John Muir Trail - section 2 is a great hiking trail close by. Kidney Lake is one of the lakes here in the Central Sierra Nevada. For the period of the summer here at Kidney Lake, high temperatures regularly get into the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 30's.
