This lake is located in the wonderful Northern Sierra Nevada. Whohoo, so much entertaining stuff in one place! The Northern Sierra Nevada is great! Kelly Lake is right by the Mears Lake Valley Trail, and you can run the rapids of Yuba River - South Fork. Summertime highs at Kelly Lake typically tend to be in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 40's. The winter brings highs down       to the 40's, and overnight lows at Kelly Lake during the winter ordinarily fall into the 20's. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors enjoyable things the Northern Sierra Nevada has to offer. Meadow Spring is a pretty site to visit while you're at Kelly Lake, and everyone close by loves skiing at Royal Gorge. Why not camp at Kelly Lake Campground if you're here at Kelly Lake, and there are plenty of folks from Truckee-Grass Valley here at Kelly Lake.                  And if that's not sufficient, there's a heap more to do in close proximity to Kelly Lake. Deer Creek Inn is a great site to get some rest. All the water falling down from the sky makes Kelly Lake a wet place; the month of January is the wettest with most of the rain, and July on the other hand is the driest. Do stop by Lake Valley Reservoir in close proximity to Kelly Lake, it's a wonderful lake, and do take a hike on the Big Valley Trail. A great site for whitewater paddling near Kelly Lake is Fordyce Creek, and don’t forget to stop at Lake Valley while you're here at Kelly Lake. If only every spot had this much outdoors amusing things, what a great globe it would be. You get a nice panorama of Cisco Butte from Kelly Lake, and hey, Gotta ski right? Soda Springs is a brilliant spot to do that. This lake is so wonderful. Visit Rattlesnake Creek while you're here at Kelly Lake; if you came for an overnight stay Silver Tip Campground is a good location to camp. This lake is so wonderful.
