Kelly Lake is located in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Head up to Royal Gorge and strap some skis to your feet, and if the weather is delightful, you can go for a hike along the Grouse Ridge Trail. Now, you may think that's a load but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Camping is available at Kelly Lake Campground; everybody loves Lake Valley. And if that's not sufficient there's       a lot more exciting stuff to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Rattlesnake Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth taking a look at, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Yuba River - South Fork. At Kelly Lake you always meet someone from Truckee-Grass Valley; the peak of Cisco Butte can be observed from Kelly Lake. And if that's not enough, there's lots more to do in the neighborhood of Kelly Lake. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself                  at Meadow Spring, and going for a hike along the Big Valley Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. This lake is so wonderful. A picturesque lake like Crystal Lake near Kelly Lake is a good place to explore, and the snow is splendid at Soda Springs. And if you're still looking for more outdoors amusing things just keep reading. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Silver Tip Campground while you're here at Kelly Lake, and if you come at the right time of year, Fordyce Creek offers some tremendous whitewater. Hiking along the Mears Lake Valley Trail is glorious fun, and after a long day outdoors Deer Creek Inn is a great spot to spend a night or two. Kelly Lake generally gets a lot of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is mostly January, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is July. At Kelly Lake through the months of summer highs are in the 80's while night lows are commonly in the 40's.
