     This lake is so wonderful. Stonehouse Gulch is a great place to go to near Kalmia Lake; you can run the rapids of Trinity River - North Fork. A journey to Whiskeytown National Recreation Area is recommended, and camping at Big Flat Campground is always a splendid experience. The yearly precipitation here at Kalmia Lake is about average; most of the rain falls throughout December while July is typically the driest month.

   Ranges is a major feature of the region around Kalmia Lake. Whohoo, so many enjoyable things in one place! The Klamath Mountains is so good! Good hiking is available along the Deacon Lee Trail, and why not take a look at close by Boulder Creek if you're here at Kalmia Lake. Kalmia Lake is located in the Klamath Mountains.
Kalmia Lake is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Ripstein Campground is a fine local campground; on a delightful day you obtain
 
               a pleasant vista of Caesar Peak from Kalmia Lake. Summertime highs at Kalmia Lake typically tend to be in the 80's; the overnight is somewhat cooler of course, mostly in the 40's. During the winter the highs are usually in the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Kalmia Lake. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors exciting stuff the Klamath Mountains has to offer. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Kalmia Lake; Tanners Peak Trail is a brilliant local trail, and not far from Kalmia Lake you'll come across Canyon Creek Lakes which is a stunning lake.
If you like the outdoors, you'll have a thing about Kalmia Lake. A splendid site for whitewater paddling in the neighborhood of Kalmia Lake is Salmon River - South Fork, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always have a look at nearby Mirror Lake.

I WALKED FROM MAIN ROAD TO TRAILHEAD ON 4-22-09. HEAVY SNOW DRIFTS, TRAILHEAD IS UNDER ABOUT 48'' OF FROZEN SNOW. NOT RECOMMENDED TO HIKE ALONE, YOU WILL SINK A DOZEN TIMES OR SO UP TO YOUR WAIST! I CHICKENED OT ABOUT 1/2 WAY UP THE TRAIL I COULDN'T SEE UNDERNEATH THE SNOW AND BOULDERS. I BET THE FISHING IS RIGHT ON!...
