This lake is so wonderful. The slopes of June Mountain are so inviting nobody can resist, naturally you could also check out Trinity Lakes since you're here; it's not far at all. The Sherwin Lakes Trail is a delightful hiking trail in the neighborhood of Johnston Lake; if you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on San Joaquin River - Middle Fork. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the       90's to Johnston Lake. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. For the period of the winter the highs are typically in the 40's, and night lows at Johnston Lake during the winter frequently fall into the 20's. Camping is available at Reds Meadow Campground; on a magnificent day you can take a hike along the Mammoth Rock Trail. You believe that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. Mono Creek has a pleasant whitewater paddling spot nearby.                  You completely should love Johnston Lake.
