    Do stop by Jess Lakes while you're in this part of California. Jess Lakes is right by the Miller Canyon Trail; Jess Lakes is not the only place nearby, Apple Pond is a nearby lake. If you need a place to stay Quality Inn & Suites is a great choice. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun stuff at Jess Lakes. A good nearby hotel is Red Roof Inn Victorville; great skiing awaits you at Snow Valley.
During the summertime months at Jess Lakes
 
   highs are typically in the 90's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. High temperatures throughout the winter are normally in the 50's; after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Jess Lakes drop into the 20's. Jess Lakes is commonly a relatively waterless spot; February is when you get the most rain here; the driest month of the year is June. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Jess Lakes you can play some golf at Jess Ranch  
               Golf Course, and Jess Lakes is a pleasant location to visit for more than one day, Mojave Narrow Regional Park is a pleasant location to camp nearby.
Why not take a refreshing hike along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 6, obviously you could also check out Pelican Lake since you're here; it's not far at all. Take a hike on the Cable Canyon Trail, and Jess Ranch Lakes RV Resort is a great local campground.
