Stumpy Meadows Lake
10 miles away
Do not go to Stumpy Meadows. You will not like the horrible screech of the osprey and eagle as they swoop down to steal our fish, nor will you appreciate the lack of television or telephone reception. Naw, go to the river, and I will see if I can scare off those pesky birds with my patented `stare from afar'. I will let you all know when it is again safe to drive up here......

Pi-Pi Campground
11 miles away
This is aggressive bear country.  Watch your back when hiking and make sure you're fast enough to out-run at least one of your hiking buddies....Is there camp grounds to camp in vehicals? Is there rivers or lakes?...

Finnon Lake
13 miles away
Finnon Lake is open year round.? Reservations are not required but there are a limited number of weekends that the campground is reserved by large groups, usually several months in advance.? Contact is through the Mosquito Volnteer Fire Association 530-622-6832(leave a clear message) and we can tell you if the weekend is reserved. We can reserve a spot for you if you wish. If you are fortunte to be ther in the mid winter months you may see a bald eagle or osprey, not to mention all the other wildlife the rest of the year. Thanks for the nice things you said about our campground....

Tiger Creek Reservoir
15 miles away
I think it's overstated but the fishing can be inviting, for there are massive 20lb browns and 15+ rainbows in the lake and are native.. Do whatch out for tweekers, for they are everywhere, give them a smoke and a beer, and they will bait your hook.Have a great visit to our lake......

Lake Walton Campground
19 miles away
I would like pictures of lake walton and the campground....

Schaads Reservoir
19 miles away
Shcaads is a dammed lake on the middle fork of the the mokelumne river. Get out your banjos when you visit...very country-fryed. Fishing at Schaads has always been iffy, never good. The mid fork moke river above used to have small trout but CFG put in some otters and the fishing is nada. Blue Creek, a whole different drainage and miles away has a few small fish but not worth the effort on very rough roads. Go to the Stan river at the upper end of Melones Res. Hike up, catch some good ones....I am looking for directions back to Blue Creek. It is up the road several miles past Schaads. I havent fished there since the eighties and would like to go back. Any help out there? thanks   fuzzykpd@inreach.com...
