Go to Jenkinson Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. A perfect location for whitewater paddling close to Jenkinson Lake is American River - South Fork; if the weather is good, you can go for a hike along the Grizzly Canyon Trail. You feel that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. Camp Creek is a great whitewater spot near Jenkinson Lake, and Sly Park Campground is a delightful local campground. Yeah, come up here to the Northern Sierra Nevada for a nice time.

Be careful coming to the Northern Sierra Nevada, you might not ever want to return home again. A fine close by hotel is Best Western Stagecoach Inn, and Sly Park Dam is a lovely location.
Jenkinson Lake is a great place to visit for more than one day, Ghost Mountain RV Campground is a great place to camp nearby; while you're here you can take a hike along the Belix Trail. Jenkinson Lake is a wet place that gets a great
deal of rainfall; during the month of January you get the most rain around here while July is mostly the driest month.
At Jenkinson Lake throughout the months of summer highs are in the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of
summer temperatures plunge down into the 60's. Highs during the winter are usually in the 50's, and nighttime lows in the 30's for Jenkinson Lake.
