This lake is so wonderful. There's great hiking along the Pilot Ridge Trail, and Goodman Prairie Creek is near Jarnigan Pond and is always a delight to stop by. Whohoo, so many enjoyable things in one place! The Coast Ranges rocks! Get yourself into a kayak and hit Mad River, and there are some perfect whitewater spots on Van Duzen River. This lake is so wonderful.

Having a glorious time at Jarnigan Pond is easy. There are tremendous spots to look at along the Grouse Creek Tractor Way; Jarnigan Pond is a tremendous spot to visit for more than one day, Redcrest Motor Inn Resort is a tremendous
spot to camp nearby. Now, you may assume that's a heap but there's even more exciting things to do here in the Coast Ranges. Lazy Double B Park is a nice campground nearby, and Comfort Inn Arcata is a wonderful place to get some rest.
Jarnigan Pond is a location with many visitors from Eureka-Arcata-Fortuna, and if you need a site to stay Howard Johnson Express Inn is a wonderful choice.
Don't leave Jarnigan Pond without first going for a hike along the Grouse Creek Tractor Trail, and the panorama of gorgeous Iaqua Buttes is glorious.
