Go to Island Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. The Crooked Lakes Trail is a delightful hiking trail close to Island Lake, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Royal Gorge is pretty near. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Shinneyboo Creek Cabin Resort is a magnificent choice, and get covered with water paddling on Fordyce Creek.

| | the driest month of the year is July. This lake is so wonderful. There is a great hiking trail in close proximity to Island Lake called the Round Lake Trail, and you're sure to bump into some good folks from Truckee-Grass Valley here. Island Lake is a great site to camp, Grouse Ridge Campground is a great site; going for a hike on the Bowman Mountain Trail is always a brilliant adventure.

planet it would be. Soar down the rapids of Yuba River - South Fork in a kayak; you obtain a brilliant view of Bowman Mountain from here. If you want a brilliant time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Northern Sierra Nevada.
Dry warm beds await you at Rainbow Lodge; a lake close by is Bullpen Lake. Yep, outdoors fun things truly is bountiful here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Stay the night at Carr-Feeley Campground; Soda Springs is a nice local ski
area.
For the period of the summertime months here at Island Lake, high temperatures mostly get into the 90's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's, and night lows through the winter for Island Lake tend to be in the 20's. The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful.
