If you are traveling by, why not stop by Island Lake. Island Lake is a beautiful lake in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Grouse Ridge Campground is a splendid local campground, and what would winter be without some skiing at Royal Gorge. So much fun stuff in the Northern Sierra Nevada, just inspiring. If you need a place to stay Deer Creek Inn is a glorious choice, and there are some magnificent whitewater spots on Fordyce Creek.

a tad cooler of course, commonly in the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's; night lows throughout the winter for Island Lake tend to be in the 20's.
This lake is so wonderful. There is a great hiking
trail close to Island Lake called the Bowman Mountain Trail, and Bowman Mountain is picturesque and can be seen from here. This lake is so wonderful. On a wonderful day at Island Lake you can take a hike along the Round Lake Trail;
you're probably addicted to lakes, Lindsey Lakes is one of those close by.
So much exciting stuff to do here at Island Lake, too wonderful to be true. While you're here at Island Lake you can take a hike along the Crooked Lakes
Trail; picturesque scenery and great skiing is what you get at Soda Springs. Carr-Feeley Campground is a wonderful campground nearby, and there are plenty of folks from Truckee-Grass Valley here at Island Lake.
