Isabella Lake is a site with many visitors from Bakersfield, and you might also want to pay a visit to French Gulch if you're here at Isabella Lake. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's; after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Isabella Lake dip into the 20's. Don't leave Isabella Lake without first going for a hike along the Bull Run Cattle Drive, and a tour to Engineer Point is always a great idea. whitewater on Kern River for all you adrenaline junkies; some of the water close by flows, like South Fork Kern River. Isabella Main Dam is not far at all from Isabella Lake; camping at Jesse James Trailer Park is always a nice experience.
The amount of precipitation that falls at Isabella Lake is close to the national average; the wettest month of the year is typically January, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is July. Be careful
coming to the Southern Sierra Nevada, you might not ever wanna return back home again. Go for a hike on the Virginia Trail; Isabella Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Auxiliary Dam Campground is a good local campground.
