Camping at Minaret Falls Campground is always a glorious experience. A pleasant site for whitewater paddling close to Iron Lake is Mono Creek. Lakes are tremendous; Ashley Lake is a lake that's close to Iron Lake. You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun stuff in the Central Sierra Nevada. A good spot to camp here at Iron Lake is Reds Meadow Campground; there are splendid spots to look at along the Sherwin Lakes Trail. This lake is

overnight lows in the 50's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 40's with temperatures at Iron Lake dipping down into the 20's during winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. You can never get enough
of the great skiing at Mammoth Mountain, and Iron Mountain is a peak you can see from Iron Lake. The amount of rainfall that falls at Iron Lake is close to the national average; the month of January is the wettest with most of the
rain while June is generally the driest month. This lake is one of the great places here in the Central Sierra Nevada. If you adore the outdoors you'll adore it here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Going for a hike on the Mammoth
Rock Trail is always a delightful adventure, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at nearby Alstot Lake. Get your heart pumping on the pleasant whitewater of San Joaquin River - Middle Fork, and if you need a site to stay Heidelberg Inn is a great choice.
