     Iron Gate Reservoir is pretty dried up usually; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain; July is the month with the least moisture. If you need a place to stay Lithia Springs Resort And Gardens is a good choice. This lake is so wonderful. An exciting thing to stop by close to Iron Gate Reservoir is Iron Gate Dam, and hey, Bogus Creek is a good local stream.
Be careful coming to the Southern Cascade Range, you might not ever wanna
 
   go home again. There's whitewater on Shasta River for all you adrenaline kick people; if you came to camp Camp Creek Campground is a brilliant place to do that. And if you're still looking for more outdoors cool stuff just keep reading. You're probably hooked on lakes, Oregon Gulch Reservoir Number One is one of those nearby, and on a fine day you can take a hike along the Bear Creek Trail. During the summertime months highs here at Iron Gate Reservoir reach the  
               80's while night lows are generally in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are typically in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Iron Gate Reservoir.
That right there is lots of cool things already but it goes on, the Southern Cascade Range has it all. Looking for something right next door to Iron Gate Reservoir? Copco Lake is around here; if you would like a little side trip, try Long Gulch. There are some fine whitewater spots on Jenny Creek. There's so much to do here at Iron Gate Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Blue Heron Recreational Vehicle Park is a splendid place for that. Sentinel Rocks is clearly visible from Iron Gate Reservoir; there is a great hiking trail close by called the Copper Trail.
This lake is so wonderful. Holiday Inn Express YREKA-SHASTA AREA is a nice place to get some rest, and stunning scenery and great skiing is what you acquire at Mt. Ashland. This lake is located in the wonderful Southern Cascade Range.

You have got to be kidding. IV-V+???!!!!!! Has someone really run the falls? You make it sound like a like just any old run. It can only be run at the few times there is enough water and for a large part of the run, barb wire, willow thickets in the channel and recluses with shotguns are the main obstacles. Only the last few miles has whitewater of note and it is challenging. I ran this section in the mid eighties and claim along with my buddies Kent Erskine and Max Linn a first descent....

If you can ski Mt. Ashland, you can ski anywhere, is a boast locals in southern Oregon have made for 45 years. It is true; Mt. Ashland offers plenty of adventure for both skiers and riders. The ski area is located about a half an hour drive from the charming town of Ashland, home to the world renowned Oregon Shakespeare Festival. At 7,500 feet, Mt. Ashland is the highest point in the Siskiyou mountain range. Its north facing slopes collect an average 300 inches of snowfall annually. The ski area offers 23 trails in addition to chute skiing and boarding in its famous bowl. All trails are easily accessed by 4 chairlifts. Twilight skiing on 10 runs is scheduled Thursday through Friday evenings beginning in late-December. The mountain prides itself on a warm and friendly atmosphere.
