If you need a location to stay The Ahwahnee is a nice choice. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Central Sierra Nevada. On a wonderful day you acquire a panorama of Amelia Earhart Peak from Ireland Lake, and if you get bored of Ireland Lake you could also stop at close by Gallison Lake. But wait, there's more amusing stuff to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. Dry warm beds await you at Heidelberg Inn, and going for a hike along       the John Muir Trail - section 1 will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. This lake is so wonderful. Tioga Campground is a fine local campground; Evelyn Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore. Get soaked paddling on San Joaquin River - Middle Fork, and hiking along the John Muir Trail - section 2 is tremendous fun. An average amount of rain falls at Ireland Lake; January is the month that gets the most rain; July is when it's the driest.                  All through the summertime at Ireland Lake temperatures are commonly in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's, and nighttime lows at Ireland Lake during the winter ordinarily descend into the 20's. Ireland Lake is one of the lakes here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Junction Campground is a good campground nearby, and whitewater paddling is fine on Tenaya Creek. If only every spot had this much outdoors fun stuff, what a great earth it would be.
