| 17 miles away 3 PHOTOS I ALSO HAVE GONE CAMPING AT HOLE IN THE GROUND SINCE I WAS A LITTLE GIRL I WOULDNT HAVE IT ANY OTHER WAY I LOVE IT THERE AND NOW SO DO MY KIDS.... I've been going to hole in the ground, off and on for 40 years. From when I was a kid hiking in the forest, tubing down the creek, swimming in the pools, and fishing for planted trout that the hatchery would toss in the creek. Now it is a restricted salmon run, there is no planters and restrictions on the type of tackle you can use. The fishing was great as a kid. I like how peaceful it is, with the sound of creek and an occasional bluejay chirping. I enjoy cooking on the wood stoves. There are only a hand full left, (what a shame). I will be meeting one of my brothers and dad at the hole in three weeks. My large family with foster children love going to the hole. Some have been before and some will experience it for the first time. **lot of good memories**... |
Rancheria RV Park

Our lake Catherine is catch and release only. All of our RV sites are full hookups, which include water, sewer, electric, cable and 2 hours of free wi-fi. We have a rec-hall for our guests to gather for groups or family gatherings. There is a nice area that has picnic tables for gatherings with a large BBQ for our guests to use. Our bathhouse has large showers and stalls, there is a laundry faclilty for the guests convience. A full running restaurant that is open year round from 9am to 7pm. There is a general store. We are located 21 miles from Burney. We have sites located around the lake, pull thrus, back-ins. There are 50 and 30amp sites. Our sites are long so we can accomidate large RV's. There are 3 cabins available at Rancheria RV Park. They have a microwave, television, bathroom with shower, smoke ... |
Cool Springs Campground

No reservations are taken for camping. Cool Springs is generally open from early May through mid-September. The heaviest use is between mid-June through mid-August. Butt Lake is a great fishing lake. Motorboats are allowed but no skiing or jet skis. There is a nice rock\sand beach for playing.... |
Potato Patch Campground
| 19 miles away We camp at Potato Patch campground annually with several other families. It is a very nice campground on a beautiful river. There is not a lot to do nearby though and it is a primitive campground with pit toilets and no showers. There are no hookups for RVs, but we tent camp anyway. We mostly play by the river (very cold water). Our attraction is the beauty and the people we camp with. We used to fish, but it is all catch and release. I can definitely recommend it but you have to be looking for a relaxing and beautiful setting and mostly doing not much of anything. ... |
