Hiking along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 13 is pleasant fun, and there are some perfect whitewater spots on Carson River - East Fork. But wait, there's more amusing stuff to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. After a long day outdoors Best Western Minden Inn is a pleasant site to spend a night                  or two; Turtle Rock Campgrounds is a great local campground. Any time is a delightful time at Indian Creek Reservoir if you go for the outdoors. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Heavenly is near Indian Creek Reservoir, and a delightful place nearby is Diamond Valley. For the duration of the summer at Indian Creek Reservoir highs are ordinarily in the 70's, and the night is quite chillier of course, typically in the 40's. Throughout the wintertime highs are regularly in the 30's with temperatures at Indian Creek Reservoir dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. The skiing at Kirkwood is fine.
