Summer at Independence Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 90's. Summer night lows fall down to the 50's. Through the wintertime the highs are frequently in the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Independence Lake.       Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this spot. If the weather is perfect here at Independence Lake, you can go for a hike along the Garden Gulch Trail; a good location to camp here at Independence Lake is Pick-aw-Ish Campground. You can run the rapids of Klamath River near Independence Lake, and you're in all probability into lakes, Ukonom Lake is one of those close by. Independence Lake is a wet site that gets lots of rainfall; the wettest month of the year                  is usually December, that's the one that rains the most, and July is when it's the driest. This lake is one of the great places here in the Klamath Mountains. Now, you may believe that's a heap but there's even more enjoyable things to do here in the Klamath Mountains. Do set aside some time for Granite Meadow if you're here at Independence Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A nice location for whitewater paddling close to Independence Lake is Elk Creek, and camping at Sulphur Springs Campground is always a good experience. And if that's not sufficient there's lots more enjoyable stuff to do in the Klamath Mountains.
