If you came for an overnight stay Sagehen Campground is a brilliant place to camp, and you'll stumble on a pretty lake called Frog Lake. Anderson Meadow is right here at Independence Lake, and the snow is brilliant at Donner Ski Ranch. Yeah, come up here to the Northern Sierra Nevada for a pleasant time. If you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Express TRUCKEE is a good choice, and the Mount Lola Trail is a tremendous hiking trail       close by. It is very dried up here at Independence Lake generally; most of the snow falls through January; July is the month with the least moisture. This place, Independence Lake, it clearly has so much outdoors fun stuff. While you're here at Independence Lake, you could also stop by delightful Warren Lake, and going for a hike on the Cottonwood Overlook Trail is always a brilliant adventure. Through the summer months highs here at Independence Lake reach                  the 80's with night lows in the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Independence Lake are in the 10's. Be careful coming to the Northern Sierra Nevada, you might not ever want to return home again. An afternoon playing golf at Tahoe Donner Golf Course is always a diversion, and The Inn at Truckee is a good spot to get some rest. Near Independence Lake you find the Cottonwood Fisherman Trail which is a great hiking trail, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Tahoe Donner. A delightful location for whitewater paddling close to Independence Lake is Truckee River. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Yuba River - South Fork close to Independence Lake, and camping is available at Independence Lake Campground.
