Many people like to go to Independence Lake. This lake is one of the great places here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Get soaked paddling on Truckee River, and if you need a place to stay The Inn At Truckee is a fine choice. During the summer months, highs generally are in the 80's at Independence Lake with night lows in the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's while Independence Lake overnight low temperatures all through the winter are in the 10's.

| | Now, you may imagine that's a load but there's even more enjoyable things to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Don't leave Independence Lake without first going for a hike along the Cottonwood Overlook Trail; not far from Independence Lake you'll discover Frog Lake which is a scenic lake. Whohoo, so many exciting things in one place! The Northern Sierra Nevada rocks! The snow is perfect at Donner Ski Ranch; after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Truckee, Ca is a nice spot to spend
a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Golf can be played at Tahoe Donner Golf Course, and since you're here at Independence Lake it's a glorious idea to stop by Anderson Meadow. So much fun stuff to do at Independence Lake, so
little time. If you came to camp Independence Lake Campground is a wonderful place to do that; you can go for a hike on the Cottonwood Fisherman Trail.
Independence Lake is regularly a quite dried up place; most of the snow falls
through January while July is commonly the driest month. Paddling on Yuba River - South Fork is so much fun, and why not head up to Tahoe Donner and strap some skis to your feet.
