This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Sagehen Campground is a good site to do that, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Yuba River - South Fork. Have a brilliant hiking adventure along the Cottonwood Fisherman Trail, and don’t forget to explore Anderson Meadow while you're here at Independence Lake. Hiking along the Mount Lola Trail is good fun. Dry warm       beds await you at Holiday Inn Express Truckee, Ca; Tahoe Donner Golf Course is a great golf course nearby. Just can't get enough of the Northern Sierra Nevada. There's so much to do here at Independence Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Independence Lake Campground is a brilliant location for that, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Cottonwood Overlook Trail. This lake is located in the wonderful Northern Sierra Nevada. Through                  the summertime here at Independence Lake, high temperatures regularly reach the 80's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's while the cold winter nights at Independence Lake are in the 10's. And that's not all the things you can do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Donner Ski Ranch; get your heart beating on the tremendous whitewater of Truckee River. Now, you may feel that's loads but there's even more cool stuff to do here at Independence Lake. If you need a place to stay The Inn At Truckee is a splendid choice, needless to say you could also take a look at Frog Lake if you're here; it's not far at all. Independence Lake is generally a reasonably dehydrated spot; January is the month that gets the most snow; the driest month is July. This lake is so wonderful.
