Lower Peppermint Campground
 | Awesome location. Beautiful campgrounds with plenty of space and fire pits. Many trails to hike with waterfalls and slides. We stayed at campground six, before the private ranch and we found a lot of campsites with good firepits. We fished, but didn't catch anything. One thing about the grounds is that there was a lot of trash. It's obvious that people don't pack out!! Please people keep this area clean!!... |

The Tule River, which runs through the camp ground, is stocked with rainbow trout during the summer months, making fishing a very popular visitor activity. A quaint general store, bar and restaurant is available about 1 mile away in charming Camp Nelson. During winter months, hwy 190 is closed about 9 miles beyond Camp Nelson at Ponderosa.
