If you need a spot to stay Holiday Inn Express TRUCKEE is a glorious choice; glide down the rapids of Yuba River - South Fork in a kayak. You assume that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Fordyce Creek; why not take a refreshing hike along the Long Valley Trail. Not far from Ice Lakes, you'll discover Serena Lake which is a scenic lake;       there's fine hiking along the Lola Montez Trail. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Ice Lakes while night lows are mostly in the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 40's, and night lows at Ice Lakes through the wintertime generally drop into the 20's. The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. Plumpjack Squaw Valley Inn is a nice place to get some rest, and you might also want to pay a visit to Summit Valley since you're                  here at Ice Lakes. Ice Lakes is a wet place that gets a great deal of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is commonly January, that's the one that rains the most, and July is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Gotta ski! Boreal is a tremendous site to do that; if you came to camp Onion Creek Campground is a nice spot to do that. Everybody nearby loves skiing at Soda Springs. This lake is so wonderful. Upper Castle Creek is a nice local stream; the Heath Falls Overlook Trail offers hiking at its best. So much enjoyable stuff to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada, too fine to be true.
