Do stop by Ice Lake while you're in this part of California. This lake is one of the great places here in the Central Sierra Nevada. These mountains rock, just look at all the fun stuff to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. There's whitewater on Tuolumne River for all you adrenaline kick people, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend West Walker River. Summer at Ice Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's

| | with nighttime lows in the 40's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 40's, and night lows in the 10's for Ice Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A lake close by is Barney Lake; the Pacific Crest Trail - section 12 is a perfect hiking trail close by. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you want a great time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Central Sierra Nevada. Little Slide Canyon is in close proximity to Ice Lake and is a glorious site, and camping at Ice Lake
is delightful fun, Buckeye Campground is a delightful local campground. Not much rainfall falls here at Ice Lake; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most snow; the driest of the months is September. After a long
day outdoors Ruby Inn is a wonderful place to spend a night or two, and some exciting geology is available here, The Slide is right here. One of the dominant features of the surroundings of Ice Lake is Finger Peaks, and going for a hike on the Ten Lakes Trail is always a great adventure.
