You can never get enough of the great skiing at Royal Gorge, and the peak of McIntosh Hill can be made out from Huysink Lake. Visit Rattlesnake Creek while you're here at Huysink Lake; hiking along the Salmon Lake Trail is wonderful fun. Huysink Lake is a relatively wet place frequently with much precipitation; most of the rain falls throughout January, and the driest of       the months is July. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors entertaining things the Northern Sierra Nevada has to offer. This is a popular site for people from Truckee-Grass Valley. There's so much to do here at Huysink Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Indian Springs Campground is a pleasant location for that. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Huysink Lake. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the                  40's. Through the winter highs are in the 40's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Huysink Lake temperatures sink to the 20's. This is no site for people who don’t like to have fun. Having a fine time in the Northern Sierra Nevada is easy. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Yuba River - South Fork, as expected you could also have a look at Salmon Lake since you're here; it's not far at all. This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Yuba River - South Fork for all you adrenaline kick people, and going for a hike along the Loch Leven Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. Big Valley is a nice site to stretch your legs a bit.
