Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Northern Sierra Nevada. Looking for some flowing water? Try Rattlesnake Creek; nearby you come across the Sugar Pine Point Trail which is a brilliant hiking trail. This lake is so wonderful. Hit the slopes at Royal Gorge nearby; you're probably keen on lakes, Salmon Lake is one of those nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Huysink Lake is a location       with many visitors from Truckee-Grass Valley, and in case you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Yuba River - South Fork. All the outdoors fun things in the Northern Sierra Nevada will keep you coming back many times. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Soda Springs, and a journey to Big Valley invigorates the spirit. You imagine that's enough? Just getting warmed up. You can                  see McIntosh Hill from Huysink Lake, and if you came to camp Indian Springs Campground is a splendid place to do that. There is a fine hiking trail in close proximity to Huysink Lake called the Salmon Lake Trail. There's so much to do here at Huysink Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Kelly Lake Campground is a tremendous site for that. A pleasant place for whitewater paddling near Huysink Lake is Yuba River - South Fork; going for a hike on the Loch Leven Trail is always a wonderful adventure. Huysink Lake regularly gets a large amount of rainfall; January is when you get the most rain here, and July on the other hand is the driest. The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. Through the summer at Huysink Lake temperatures are typically in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 40's.
