Get yourself into a kayak and hit Fordyce Creek, and if you came for an overnight stay Cold Springs Campground is                  a tremendous place to camp. And if that's not enough there's plenty more entertaining stuff to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Boreal since you're here; if you need a place to stay Squaw Valley Lodge is a great choice. The Cherry Point Trail offers hiking at its best, and at Huntley Mill Lake you can catch a glimpse of Devils Peak. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Long Valley Trail, and get covered with water paddling on Yuba River - South Fork. Huntley Mill Lake gets lots of water; the wettest month of the year is typically January, that's the one that rains the most; the driest month is July.
