Float down the rapids of Fordyce Creek in a kayak, and there are other places here than Huntley       Mill Lake, for example Natalie Lake. At Huntley Mill Lake during the summertime months highs are in the 70's, and the nighttime is slightly colder of course, regularly in the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Huntley Mill Lake are in the 20's. Lakes? Sure, Nancy Lake is in the vicinity, and dry warm beds await you at Plumpjack Squaw Valley Inn. This lake is so wonderful. Devils Peak is scenic                  and can be observed from Huntley Mill Lake, and Boreal has magnificent slopes and a friendly staff. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Huntley Mill Lake; Cherry Point Trail is a great local trail; great hiking is available along the Long Valley Trail. Be careful coming to the Northern Sierra Nevada, you might not ever want to go back home again. Paddling on Yuba River - South Fork is so much fun, and Cold Springs Campground is a perfect local campground. That right there is a heap of cool things already but it goes on, the Northern Sierra Nevada has it all. There's glorious hiking along the Heath Falls Overlook Trail, and Sterling Lake Campground is a splendid campground nearby.
